How a war is decided in this room

  1. 1
Declare out loud. Name your target. A war nobody heard did not happen.
  2. 2
Both sides read their Military Units. Higher total wins.
  3. 3
A tie goes to the defender.
  4. 4
Both nations record it on their own device. One Win, one Loss.
  5. 5
Every alliance you hold adds +2 Military Units. You may hold three.
  6. 6
Chemical weapons override the count — and cost HDI −0.10 plus sanctions.

First question — before anything else

Look at where you ended up. Does it make sense for who you turned out to be?

Debrief · pick three
  1. 1
Who bought military units, and what did they cost you in HDI? Now — who formed alliances, and what did those cost?
  2. 2
Whose HDI rose across the Depression? What did they do that the rest of you did not?
  3. 3
Somebody used chemical weapons. What did the room do when you announced it?
  4. 4
Who was invaded and felt something unfair happened? Name it precisely.
  5. 5
The nations that ended lowest — were you poor because of what you did, or what you started with?
